Our Second Anniversary was an (intentionally) low key but very celebratory event. The music was exceptional and the mood was... well, Thankful. There was a special calm over Brothers K that evening as we all seemed to acknowledge what we'd been a part of creating. Once a month a bunch of us get to perform and hear great music in a comfortable setting in our nice south-east Evanston neighborhood. And it's NEVER predictable! There are always new musicians (there were two first-timers in November) and our regular performers are constantly challenging themselves with new material, collaborations, etc. Also in November we we're joined by Chicago Tribune staff reporter Jonathan Bullington who wrote a nice article about our Open Mic that appeared in print the following Thursday. THE NEXT FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC
is SATURDAY, December 5, FROM 6-8PM (with SIGN-UP BEGINNING AT 5:30) held, as always, at Evanston's favorite Coffee House, BROTHERS K, located at 500 Main Street, just 1 block from the Metra and El stations.
NOTE: To be sure to get a seat and/or your name on the sign-up sheet make sure to be there by 5:30.
