OPEN MIC REMINDER | VOLUME 11.
With so much going on this month I've decided to change the format of our monthly reminder in hopes of keeping everything clear and easy to read. First, and most importantly, don't miss the next: FIRST SATURDAYS OPEN MIC SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, FROM 6-8PM (with SIGN-UP BEGINNING AT 5:30) held, as always, at Evanston's favorite Coffee House, BROTHERS K, located at 500 Main Street, just 1 block from the Metra and El stations. This month promises to be a special one with some guest appearances by some First Saturdays first-timers. MORE INFO » T-SHIRTS ARE IN! AND THEY LOOK GREAT! Pick one up at Brothers K, at the Open Mic, or stop Thomas Cray (me) on the street for one! They are only $15.00 and all proceeds are for the purchase of a permanent proper PA that will accommodate 4 inputs (any combination of mic or instrument) and a pair of microphones to help facilitate a variety of musical combinations at our Open Mics. MORE INFO » 357 ENSEMBLE When Evanston's own Nick Anaya isn't playing songs from the Great American Songbook with guitarist Thomas Cray at First Saturdays Open Mics he's playing with his 357 ENSEMBLE at Chicago's finer Jazz venues. This month he's excited to be headlining a Friday night at Fred Anderson's Velvet Lounge! Catch him on Friday, October 3rd, at 9PM. Lastly, THANKS SO MUCH to the kind patron who donated the brand new Sure SM58 Microphone. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated and warmly received! Thanks, as always, for everyone's time and support. Your host, Thomas Cray |
